  1. Where does Quality Homes build?

    Quality Homes is a custom homebuilder that builds on any lot that you have purchased anywhere in Ontario.
  2. Is Quality Homes a subdivision builder?

    Quality Homes custom builds each home to our customers' specific requirements. We build your home, your way, on a lot of your choosing.
  3. What am I responsible for in terms of the building of my new home?

    You are responsible for providing a lot, services such as well and septic (where necessary), and hook-ups to municipal services such as hydro, cable and phone services. Quality Homes can assist you with applying for a building permit.
  4. Am I responsible for the construction of my home's foundation?

    Quality Homes includes a full height, poured concrete foundation as part of your home's standard specifications.
  5. How long will it take to build my home?

    The time from start to finish depends on the size and finishings of your home. Build times range from 10 to 18 weeks. Our HUG program guarantees the pre-determined completion date
  6. How much do you charge per square foot?

    Since we are a custom homebuilder, the price per square foot varies depending on your home's design, finishes and structural items such as deck, porch and garage. Once we have your home designed, we provide guaranteed pricing as described in our HUG program.
  7. How long has Quality Homes been in business?

    Established in 1987, Quality Homes has been in business for over 23 years, and has built thousands of custom homes across Ontario.
  8. What is covered under my new home warranty?

    Quality Homes offers a full 10-year structural warranty, which is three years longer than Tarion Home Warranty Corporation's 7-year standard. Quality Homes is registered with the Tarion Home Warranty Corporation. In partnership with Tarion, we guarantee that every Quality home is free from defects in workmanship and materials.     Since its inception, Quality Homes has never had a chargeable conciliation with Tarion and has been nominated for Tarion's Builder of the Year in the large volume builder category.
  9. Am I limited by having to choose one of Quality Homes' 85 custom designs?

    Absolutely not. Quality Homes is a custom homebuilder that offers all of the selections (and more) that you would expect from any custom builder. We offer an extensive choice of exterior options including brick and stone, and interior custom options - everything from hardwood, ceramics, carpet and high ceilings - to fine cabinets and custom décor details.   10. Are your homes provided as a "kit"?

    Quality Homes provides a complete home. We offer all of our services under one roof so you only have to deal with one reliable company for the construction of your entire custom home.
  11. Do you build additions?

    Quality Homes builds additions on a selective basis. We need to be sure that we have good access to the building site, and that the existing structure is conducive to receiving an addition. We do not do second storey or upper floor additions.
  12. What is the impact of the HST on my new home purchase?

    All new home purchases are subject to HST. However, a 6% rebate up to a maximum of $24,000, is available on your new home if it is your primary residence.

Comparison Questions Checklist

Use this comparison checklist to determine how Quality Homes measures up to other custom home builders:

  • Do you receive a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) rebate?
  • Are the exterior walls built with 2x6, R20 insulation and a special air barrier system?
